This web site has been designed for every child who wishes to master the mysteries of mathematics, students who want more than mere understanding, and scholars who want to grasp all the nuances of different topics so that they can enhance and extend their knowledge beyond what is already known. The site has also been created for parents watching on as their frustrated off-spring labor with foreign concepts that leave them baffled and mentally impotent, thus resulting all too often, in the student abandoning any hope of an academic career. Perhaps the greatest mathematician of all time, Isaac Newton, said near the end of his life, “If I have been able to see further than others it is because I have stood on the shoulders of giants”. Robert Ollis has also stood on the shoulders of giants; I am particularly indebted to my mentor and professor under whom I studied my Masters degree, Professor Frederick Chong. But equally as importantly I have learnt form the thousands of children that I have taught or coached. Every time I enter a classroom or study group I am reminded that every child is a genius and I am ready to be inspired. Why don’t you stand on my shoulders and take a hand up to a rewarding and successful journey in learning mathematics. It has taken me over 35 years to devise these notes, they have been road-tested by hundreds of students and refined along the guidelines of Quality Assurance (continuous improvement principle). They will help.
Also, read and be inspired by our free down-loads as many others have been done before you. Finally, I would like to recognise the special contribution of Douglas Woods (B.E. elect, USYD), for his editing and correctional work over a ten-year period.
