Gifted and talented
The two words, “gifted” and “talented” are close enough in concept to be synonyms, but they have the dichotomy when used together to be evocative and exotic. Evocative in that together they suggest a species of super brain that can absorb, process and disseminate information at extraordinary high levels of intelligence and exotic: because the talented will be expected to help solve the complex problems facing the world today. Certainly gifted and talented students will eventually be part of this process, but this article along with the coursebooks and tutorials are about recognizing these students at the elementary level and nurturing that talent so that they (the gifted student) can fulfill their destiny.
